It's the brain child of my friend, director and producer Ericka Nelson. "Weird Little Things" is a series of interviews on phobias and anxiety, wrapped around a short film, "Pickles," shot beautifully on 16 mm in black and white. "Pickles" is the only fiction component of the overall composition, in which a couple struggles to find the right way to handle the fears and anxieties that threaten to get in the way of their overall happiness.
I'm a lucky guy, as an actor. Ericka cast me as the male in the short film, which wonderfully turns from comedic to heartbreaking with surgical precision. (Lead actress Lena Raff gives a fantastic performance.)
Take a look at the production's newly created Facebook page at the start of this post. It is slated for an early 2013 release, but it is focusing on such universal, human themes, I want to help talk it up as early as possible. Definitely something to keep an eye on.
